Auditions will be open to children & teens ages 7-18
No experience is necessary.
Please enter through the theater entrance on the east side of the Van Buren Township Community Center Theater at 46425 Tyler Rd, Van Buren Township, MI 48111.
We will have 2 nights of auditions - March 10th & 11th,2025 from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Registration begins at 6:30 PM. Both nights will have the same audition process.
Those auditioning will sing "The Preamble" (measures 44-67). Please find attached below ‘Audtion Music’ for the sheet music and a recording of our Music Director singing it. Please use these if you would like to practice it prior to auditions. The Director may ask you to read for more than one role.
Attendance either night is acceptable. There will not be callbacks.
Please note that many roles (as listed) can be cast as either male or female.
All auditions will be in person. There will not be video auditions.

Tom Mizer - An idealistic young teacher and the hero of our story
George - An excellent cheerleader for Tom; he has a calming presence, is caring, and in control
Dori - Goofies of the gang; she is silly and playful
Shulie - Sweet and genuine
Joe - A cool kid; he is laid back and fun-loving
Dina - Mature, thoughtful, and grounded
Janet - Best friends with Shulie; she has a big personality
Elvis - The King of Rock and Roll
Ensemble - Featured roles that range from Thomas Jefferson to a doctor to planets
