  • Van Buren Community Players is proud to announce auditions for Murder at the Pie Auction. No experience is necessary. The auditions will be open to adults 18 and older. Please enter through the Van Buren Community Center entrance on the east side of the building at 46425 Tyler Rd, Van Buren Township, MI 48111. We will have two nights of auditions - Monday & Tuesday, January 6 & 7 from 7:00 PM till 10:00 PM. Both nights will have the same audition process. Attendance either night is acceptable. There will not be callbacks. Picture and resume suggested but not required. The reading audition cuts will be provided at the audition. The audition form and schedule is available at https://www.vanburencommunityplayers.com and will also be available at auditions.

  • We prefer to have all auditions in person but if you are unable to attend auditions in person, video auditions will be accepted until 6:00pm Sunday, January 5th. All video submissions will be reviewed after in person auditions are complete.

    Please include the following in your video audition:

    - your name, email address and phone number

    - ensure the video includes your entire person

    - the role you are auditioning for

  • Please note that many roles can be cast as either male or female.

    Minaret Towers - Female, 50+, Phoebe’s best friend


    Felicity Hubbard - Female, 30-40, pie contest coordinator, all business


    Mark Tucker - Male, 30-40, Felicity’s high-strung assistant


    Rex Roberts - Male, 30-40, actor


    Julie Lyle - Female, 50+, pie-baking legend


    Eve Simone - Female, 20-30, contest’s youngest baker, eager to take Julia’s place


    Roger Marble - Male, 25-35, handsome, stylish, and formerly in love with Eve


    Guy Templeton - Male, 40+, pie connoisseur and judge


    Eunice Hammond - Female, any age, was going to be the local contest entrant until she was poisoned


    Server - Either, any age, pie-server

    Bidder #1 - Either, any age, actor planted in the audience to buy the key lime pie


    Bidder #2 - Either, any age, actor planted in the audience to buy the fried pie

  • Performances are March 8 & 9 and 14-16. 2025 at the Van Buren Township Community Center Theater.

    No Conflicts on Show dates are allowed unless prior agreement with Director is obtained.
